So yesterday was a little rough for Boscoe. We aren’t sure where or when but at some point he manages to completely rip off one of his toe nails. The whole thing was gone! I was feeding Austin his morning bottle and I noticed that Boscoe was limping and upon investigation I noticed that he only had 3 nails on his one foot! I freaked! I scooped him up and ran him downstairs to show Eric. We decided that we wanted to have the vet look at it. It was 7:30am at this point and I was able to get an 8am appointment. So I had to get baby and dog ready, really fast! I figured there was no point in changing Austin out of his sleeper since he was snoozing in our bed, so I just gathered the necessities and started to put him in his car seat. Well…he started to cough his little “old man” coughs which resulted in him throwing up! I mean really throwing up, it was on him the car seat, the table, the chair, and ME! So as quickly as I could I ran him upstairs and changed his outfit and bib and cleaned out the car seat as best as I could. He managed to miss my clothes so I just wiped myself off. So the baby and the dog are ready to go and I open the front door. As I look outside I realize that my truck is in the shop and I am driving a car from their lot (a car that is for sale)! Even though Boscoe wasn’t bleeding I didn’t want to take any chances so I grabbed a blanket and threw it on the front seat.
We made it to the vet at 7:59am and they took us right back. The vet tech, Josh, was amazed that Boscoe didn’t act like he was in more pain. They cleaned his foot and the wound, applied antibiotic and then wrapped it up. He looked so pathetic, but he was very excited! He has to take oral antibiotics for 2 weeks to prevent infection, but as of this morning the bandage is off and he isn’t limping around very much. He is a tough little dog!
